Result filters let you define the conditions that determine whether a test result should be treated as critical. When a result comes in, Rooster checks its ordered location and test code, then applies the most relevant result filter based on this information.
This data is extracted from the HL7 message:
Ordered location of test: found in the ORC-13
field
Test code: found in the OBX 3.1
segment
Navigate to 'Clinical' and click on 'Result Filters' from the dropdown
Click on '+ Create New Filter.'
There should be a pop-up that will appear. Fill up the fields as per your requirements.
Lab type : You can select from Biochemistry, ECG, Haematology, Microbiology or Radiology.
Take note for microbiology lab results: If a lab result appears in the NTE segment of the HL7 message and does not have a corresponding OBX segment, select the "-1" test code. This option serves as a catch-all for cases where a microbiology result lacks a specific test code.
SMS template: This section allows you to configure the SMS message sent to end users (e.g., physicians). Copy and paste the valid variables you want to include in the message.
Below you can see a template of the SMS sent to physicians which is configured by the SMS template field.

If your result filter is no longer of use, you can click on the the three dots as shown below and select 'Disable Result Filter.' Once disabled, the filter will no longer be used to determine the criticality of incoming test results.
Test name (Test code) : You can select the relevant test name here. If your test code is not available in the dropdown, refer instructions on how to add a new test code.
Locations: This is the result's ordered location. If your location codeset is not available in the dropdown, refer instructions on how to add a new codeset.
