What are contacts on Rooster ?

These are people or entities listed in the Directory who may not have login credentials but can be assigned to various roles or tasks within Rooster, such as doctors. Contacts can be linked to different pages and workflows within Rooster but don't actively interact with the system like users do.

How do I add a new contact?

  1. Navigate to Contacts under 'Directory' and click on 'Add New Contact'

  1. Key in the contact details

Contact Type: Choose from Doctor, Staff (e.g. non-clinician), or Resource (e.g. shared phone by a specific department)

MCR Number: Key in this field for Doctors only. Valid formats for MCR Number: M12345X, D12345X, MP1234X.

Mobile number: Key in the primary mobile number (mandatory for Doctors)

Email address: Key in a work email address

  1. Key in the employee's current posting

  1. If you have details of the employee's next posting (e.g. doctors who rotate within the institution), click on 'Add next posting' at the bottom.

  1. If the employee holds dual role (e.g. consultant who concurrently belongs to 2 departments or senior consultants who have non-clinical roles), click on 'Add another profile' at the bottom to key in their additional department details.

How do I update or deactivate contacts in the Directory?

You will only be able to edit contacts from your institution. Start by clicking on the 3 dots on the extreme right of the contact you want to edit.

To update a contact: Select 'Edit Contact'.

To deactivate a contact: Select 'Disable Contact'

To update a contact: Make the necessary changes, and click on the the blue "Save" button at the bottom right of the modal.

How do I download contacts from the Directory?

  1. Navigate to Contacts under 'Directory' and select 'More' to download contacts.

  1. Click on 'More' and select 'Download as excel' from the dropdown.

Shared directories

Roosterโ€™s Shared Directory is configured so that all institutions within a cluster can view each other's contacts. This makes it convenient for assigning doctors to routing rules, monthly, or daily rosters, especially as doctors frequently rotate within institutions
